Three awards to be assigned at the VPH2018 conference

In occasion of the upcoming conference three awards will be given to meritorious VPHi student members for a total prize of €2500

The three awards are:

1. The "Best VPHi Student", to reward the outstanding work submitted by VPHi student members to the VPH Conference. The award consists of a money price of 500 €.

2. The "Best VPHi Thesis Award in In silico Medicine", to reward individuals for outstanding achievements during their PhD thesis based on:

  • Capacity or knowledge gap
  • Methodological Approach
  • Research outputs
  • International integration

The award consists of a money price of 1000 €. The winner will also be invited to give a lecture for the VPH Webinar Series: www.vph-institute.org/webinar.html

3. The "Best InSilicoTrials -VPHi PhD Thesis Award in In Silico Medicine with application in industrial R&D to reward individuals for outstanding achievements during their PhD thesis, specifically focusing on the translational aspects of their work, like:

  • addressable market
  • product development phase that would benefit from the model/simulation
  • IP ownership
  • patentability
  • industrial use readiness

The award consists of a money price of 1.000 € and it is offered in collaboration with the Avicenna Alliance industry member, InSilicoTrials, to reinforce the importance of a close collaboration with the industry side of the VPH domain. 

The winners will be announced during the VPH2018 conference at the Social Dinner on 6 September 2018. We invite all the PhD students that will attend the conference to contribute to these nice initiatives. May the best one win!
