Open position: Technology Officer at Sheffield University

The INSIGNEO Technology Officer will develop a Translational Software and Systems Programme, aimed at providing concrete implementation of software and hardware technologies necessary to translate the results of the INSIGNEO research activity into the clinical practice.  This will be achieved through the formation and the coordination of a team of software developers and bioengineers that will produce prototypes for applied research projects, for clinical research projects, and for technology assessment studies. 

The ideal candidate will hold PhD in a scientific discipline and will have experience in computer technology for health in applications such as: interactive visualisation of biomedical data, images, and signals; computer aided planning and execution of treatments; computer aided diagnosis, and computer simulation of physiological and pathological processes.  Previous experience in the area of software development related to the Virtual Physiological Human initiative will be beneficial. His/her skill set should be properly balanced between bioengineering and software development to act as an interface between the needs of the technological and clinical researchers of the institute, and the software developers.
