Submit a proposal for the 2nd Fed4FIRE Competitive Call
On 21 May 2014, the Fed4FIRE project on federating a common framework for Future Internet Research and Experimentation facilities announced its 2nd competitive call (Fed4FIRE-2). Applications must be submitted before July 2, 2014 and the total available funding for Non -Industrial Experimenters such as VPH, for 2nd Open Call - Part A2 is EUR 200 000.

Launch of Public Consultation on Future and Emerging Technologies (FET)
On 2 May 2014, the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme launched a public consultation on the identification of promising future research in any technological domain. As such the Commission are inviting scientists, researcher’s engineers and innovators to submit their comments before 15 June 2014.

Council conclusion on the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI)
On the 26 May 2014, in its conclusions, the Council acknowledged the work done by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) with regard to identification of priority projects which are developed enough to be implemented in 2015-2016.

The European Commission Implementing Decision of 10 March 2014 on European Reference Networks (ERNs) and the Delegated Act on the criteria and conditions for joining these ERNs which were adopted on 10 March 2014 will enter into force on 27 May 2014.

Adoption of Council Regulation on Innovative Medicines Initiative
On May 6th 2014, the European Council adopted the Regulation of the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI2) public-private partnership, the joint undertaking between the European Union and European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) that will replace IMI.
