New Horizon 2020 calls: €15 billion over first two years
On 11 December 2013, the European Commission has for the first time presented calls for projects under Horizon 2020. Worth more than €15 billion over the first two years, the funding is intended to help boost Europe's knowledge-driven economy, and tackle issues that will make a difference in people's lives.

Launch of “Horizon 2020”
The first calls for projects have been launched for the EU framework programme “Horizon 2020” for Research and Innovation, with a budget of EUR 80 billion. Universities, research institutes and companies now have the opportunity to apply for the EU funding programme, which is set to run until 2020.
