Do you wonder if your research reflects the needs and values of the people it is meant to benefit? Or how to identify and engage with the right stakeholders?

To drive meaningful progress, cutting-edge innovations must actively incorporate society’s perspectives, views, opinions, concerns, and aspirations at every step of the development process. That’s why stakeholder engagement is a cornerstone of highly innovative research projects.

This highly interactive webinar will walk you through the importance of stakeholder engagement and communication activities, help you identify relevant stakeholders, demonstrate where to start to realise such activities, and also discuss how can we help you to do so.

In recent years, VPH - The International Society for In Silico Medicine- has conducted a diverse range of stakeholder engagement and communication activities as part of its involvement in EU-funded projects, including SimCardioTest, SimCor, In Silico World, REALM, and EDITH-CSA.

The insights and experiences gained from these activities are now compiled in the In Silico Medicine Info Kit. This free resource is designed to empower researchers, project managers, and directors involved in the proposal, planning, and execution phases of in silico medicine-related projects. The handbook provides clear instructions, guidelines, and resources to navigate the complexities of stakeholder engagement and effectively communicate the technical research involved.

Speakers:

  • Janaki Raman R: Scientific Officer at VPH, leading policy, regulatory science, and stakeholder engagement. He also coordinates regulatory interactions for in silico technology projects.

  • Zita Van Horenbeeck: VPH Social scientist, conducting her PhD research on patient engagement and the role of trust at the Life Sciences and Society Lab at KU Leuven.

  • Davide Montesarchio: Science journalist and communicator at VPH with a research background in Molecular Microbiology. He's also active as radio/event host and podcast producer.

  • Liesbet Geris: VPH Executive Director. Professor in Biomechanics and Computational Tissue Engineering at the University of Liège and the KU Leuven.
