VPH is proud to lead the proposal “Bridging the Gap Between Innovation and Adoption: Building the Foundations for Trusted AI and Virtual Human Twins in Health and Care”, which has been pre-selected among the top 9 proposals out of 36 submissions to the EU Health Policy Platform – Thematic Network 2025 cycle.
Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to turn innovation into real-world impact by addressing the technical, ethical, legal, and societal challenges inherent in deploying AI and Virtual Human Twins (VHTs) in healthcare.
But, what are Virtual Human Twins (VHTs)?
VHTs are digital representations of human physiology and pathology that integrate multiple organs and systems, across scales. They are designed to enhance our understanding of health and disease, from prevention through treatment. By combining knowledge and data, leveraging VHT technologies including AI, VHTs enable truly predictive, personalized, and patient-centred healthcare.

*Procedure to vote
Please note that voting on the thematic network proposal, requires individual registration in Health Policy Platform (HPP) and access to the Agora Network. Here is your quick guide!
Step 1: Go to European health policy platform website
Step 2: Entering the HPP website requires EU-login ID with double factor authentication
Step 3: Sign in with EU Login and authenticate yourself to enter to enter the Health Policy Platform
Step 4: On sign in, you would be directed to the EU Health Policy Registration form.
Step 5: Filling in the form will grant you access to Agora Network and to other open networks in HPP.
Step 6: Press “submit” to complete the registration form and await for approval from the platform administrators. It goes fast, if your organisation is exempted, else it may take a day or two for confirmation or rejection, by email.
Step 7: After successful registration at the Agora Network, please visit the polling page for 2025 thematic network: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/hpf/item/item/70952
