The European Research Council (ERC) recently announced the publication of its Work Programme for 2023.
With a total budget of ca β¬2.2 billion, the programme, adopted on 11 July 2022 by the European Commission, will support research across Europe. The programme will fund, inter alia, projects in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of human diseases and drug design, including digital medicine and innovative methods and modelling.
The plan consists of four grant schemes, based on the stage of the research proposal: Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and Synergy Grants.

The call for Starting grants was published on 12 July. Interested researchers can submit their applications through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
The intent is to support excellent investigators and their teams to pursue groundbreaking, high-risk/high-gain research in any field.
