The current Directorate General for Information Society and Media (DG INFSO) will change its name and structure as of 1st July 2012.
The Directorate General will be called "Communications Networks, Content and Technology" (DG CONNECT). According to the Director General, Robert Madelin, the organisational change better adapts to the newly adopted policies in the field of digital technologies and research and innovation.
The future Horizon 2020 is one of the main references in the organisation and assigned tasks of the new organisation. For instance, the future Unit A.2. will be focussing on Robotics and aim at support robotics and cognitive systems under the guidelines established by Horizon 2020.
In terms of the health portfolio, the current Unit H.1. ICT for Health has been renamed āHealth & Well-beingā and remains under the leadership of P. Zilgavis as a Head of Unit. A.
